AI and Medicine: ›How to integrate AI into diagnostics responsibly?‹
In 2025, we are launching a new event series with human Magazin at Salon Luitpold in Munich: Technological disruption through artificial intelligence is changing the way we live and work. It goes hand in hand with socio-technological, ethical and political challenges that affect us all. Yes, AI harbors numerous risks. But AI also has enormous potential to help us overcome the multiple crises of our time. With this series, we want to talk in more depth about how we can meet the challenges of AI and what role knowledge from the social sciences and philosophy plays in this. We want to encourage people to face both the opportunities and the challenges of AI constructively.
Nowhere does AI inspire such great and justified hopes and concerns as in medicine, where lives and health are at stake. On this second evening of our event series, we will discuss how the social sciences and philosophy can contribute to making AI technologies in medical diagnostics fair, transparent, and responsible. Questions we will discuss: What are the potential benefits and risks of using AI in medical diagnostics? What ethical principles should guide the use of AI in medical diagnostics? How do we define “fairness” in the context of AI-driven healthcare?
